Phishing emails copy our name, our wording and our layout. What they cannot copy is a phrase only you and we know. Set an anti-phishing code and every email from Sentinel shows it. An email that claims to be from us without your code, or with the wrong one, is not from us.
Setting it
- Step 1: Go to Security in your dashboard.
- Step 2: Choose 4 to 32 characters: letters, numbers, spaces and simple punctuation. It cannot contain @, / or :, or look like a web address, so it can never be made to look like a link inside an email.
- Step 3: Confirm with your sign-in password, so that someone using a stolen session cannot quietly swap in a code they know.
We email you whenever it is set, changed or removed, and that email shows the new code. To remove it, clear it and save.
Choosing a good one
- Something you will recognise at a glance, but that nobody would guess.
- Not your password, your name, or a phrase you use on other sites.
If an email looks wrong
- Do not click its links, open its attachments or reply with any details.
- Go to Sentinel by typing the address yourself, and sign in there.
- Tell us through support, including who the email came from and what it asked you to do.
